belonging
the root of being
is a far cry from
the transactions
of life
there is a union
a defining oneness
that penetrates and
binds into the soul
it can never let go
eternity is locked
in matter and mind
so spirit can soar
and imagination
liberate every moment
it is physical and
eternal unalloyed
and unallayed
pluming and cresting
into its paradoxical
depth and ascent
where humanity
encounters its
source and destiny
we belong not just
now and here
but beyond and above
where words and thoughts
fail and the music
alone makes us one
