how many pieces
I need to know
but cannot
they interlink
uniquely and
bear an image
and pattern
colour and shape
but only partly
I reach out seeking
the interlocking
that increases
and fulfils
a union that
is part of the
completing I
can never know
till every piece
is found and
joined far
beyond my
place and time
yet never without
me – and
you – and
the love that
makes us
one
