unravelling
as the clock ticks
our lives unravel
from hopes to
commitment left
in a muddle
of confusions
what does it mean
to me
to us
to eternity
do we have
to wait to
understand
are all things
being remade
into a greater
reality which
I and we
cannot yet see
if ever
in the light of
finite sight
as each life
unravels
in giving
and spending
there are signs
and hints
that there is
so much more
our matter
matters
but not as
we suppose
for the wind
and fire
of spirit
bring a different
value and
dimension
we travel
but in one breath
into the
infinite light
