gain and loss
in love both
gain and loss
are one
they are wed
in mystic union
where measurement
overflows in
consummation
and a remaking
of our human
powers and hopes
our purposes
and satisfaction
belonging overtakes
longing as humility
and care are
prized to set all
free even time
and tragedy are
reframed and by
the ultimate
love the cruciform
loss and gain of
empty tomb
redeem every
breath into the
whirlwind and
zephyr of the
spirit
