Poetry list

there is no switch

you can’t turn it
off the union and
passion of love
when flesh dies
intensity lives on
and as a blessing
no longer touched
but fused so that
a new creation is
prefaced where
personalities depend
in an utterly new
adventure of freedom
time and place
are simultaneously
celebrated and
devoured by a
different plane of
being the cost
incalculable in a
treasury of identity
in the other here is
the gift of god the
lover who gives us
another as a sign
and sacrament of
a glory and power
that has no end
save grief in time
so that clocks weep
hands falter and
seconds hang
between now
and ever there is
no separation just
a union lived on a
chasm where one
has plunged and
the other teeters
on a brink that
looks like madness
yet is the threshold
of eternal welcome
the life whose
abundance has no
limits yet alone
an end there is no
switch
