for the untold unpublished!
do truth and beauty make the rules
has culture formed a private club
aesthetic tyrants call out fools
love’s simple song is there to snub
what can we learn from gnostic tribe
outsiders shunned by selfish power
the very best is bought by bribe
determined in prevailing hour
arts’ blindness twee and overblown
is making it a winners’ prize
all ages’ joys are quickly flown
our vaulting pride is dust and lies
yet truth and beauty cannot die
in realm unmade by human hands
they live unnoticed like a sigh
to take us far to distant lands
where broken hearts and searing pain
cry out to see a glimpse of heav’n
formed in this life apart from gain
as salt and yeast in passion’s leav’n
