light and law
the honeyed stone
in July heat half
muffled bells for a
family funeral at
the east side the
neatly clipped grass
and tended graves
give way to shaded
dappled earth and
delicate weeds o’er
looked by stern in
filled wall whose
blank face was
once ablaze with
translucent welcoming
panes of light where un
forbidding grace is
now replaced by grim
decalogue of anti
quarian control and
threat fiat lux semper
